Who knows..maybe I’m just caught up in the start of the season. But maybe…just maybe…we can start bringing some content back to this place again. Maybe some other people would like to contribute as they have in the past, so I’m not the only one responsible for writing crap all the time.
Kind of a ho-hum game for the Sox last night…Kazmir was sharp at Fenway as always, and Lester wasn’t. A nice catch in right by Baldelli (by the way; stop trying to convinces us he grew up a Sox fan just because he is from Rhode Island. Pretty sure I read long ago that he grew up a Yanks fan, like many Italians in the Ocean State tend to be), and a flash of speed by the Dreamboat (how long before he overtakes Tek in the ‘Sox players most chicks want to bang’ category? Methinks Tek is strong in the MILF contingent, and Els is looking strong with the Cougars) and an inauspicious debut by Saito (remember Okijima gave up a HR to his first batter as a Sox…naaah; that’s a stupid comparison).
Even though I had Saito on a fantasy team over the past couple of years, I’d never actually seen him pitch before last night. You can definitely see the Nomo influence in the windup.

Historically because so many great Yankees of the past were Italians manny Italians developed an identity with the Yankees and remained their fans over the years. I have heard that many of the northern fringes of the Boston area are populated with many Italian Yankee fans. That loud buffoon who keeps calling WEEI ” Frank from Gloucester” is one of them. Now that I think about it, most of my childhood Italian friends were also Yankee fans.
Last nignt’s game was actually closer than the final score. If a few more pitches went our way and / or a few more hits in the clutch things would have been much different. The pitch hit for the HR by Pena was a good low pitch according to Tek. TB did a lot of the little things right in that rally. It was too cold for players to perform at their best. Today will be 56 and partly cloudy at game time.

If I were a true yankee fan I would have been pissed at that It was sweet retribution for the Jeffrey Maier incident from several years back. What goes around comes around. Why you are so confident about the Yankees. Pennants are not won based on who won the November Free Agent sweepsteaks and the November media hype. Despite the millions more that Yanks have outspent the opposition in recent years, they still come up short year after year.

Everybody you mention in your rambling diatribe…I have met (except Benj). I exchange Christmas cards with Joe; and I send them to Italy. Ach sends me a nice spring training gift every year from Florida. I met Cater and his wife when they came east a few years ago. I went to a Sea Dogs game with spot and his wife. Waldo and I tipped a few when he was in CT a few years ago. I’ve met rich on multiple occasions. Same with MBF/Chris House.

Maybe it’s been a too long too cold winter….but for some perverse reason, I seem to be enjoying this whacko and her idiotic assumptions about a group of mostly middle-aged Sox fan who have established more than a connection, but a fraternity of sorts. We DO mostly know one another, most of us have met at some point in time, and even more, understand the “inside” joke of an oft used expression, or an “alter-ego” etc…..
It must be really frustrating for someone who is so very desperate to “crack” that inner circle and be a “member”..to the point where this so called “common knowledge” she mentions is beyond funny….it borders on psychotic. We DO have a stalker…..and if larry and spot are reading this…they are going batshit, I’m sure.
Seems when we all started hanging out together, it took some time to gain the comfort level we now have with one another, but in spite of that good ol’ “common knowledge” we usually do welcome new comers to join in, and if they “get it” they become regulars, if they dont, then they posture and piss and moan for awhile, then go away.
