Congrats to Pedroia!

ROY and MVP in consecutive years. How about that?
Not a very exciting hot stove as of yet; I’d guess that picks up after Thanksgiving. All I ask is that the Sox do not bring Tek back.
Sorry for the post and run, but I’ve got shit to do and no time to do it!

Ditto on Pedroia….and Crisp is on the move. Not quire sure how I feel about that, given Ellsbury’s middling season and no real position, but in some of the stories I’ve read, he may be the next to go (besides Varitek). In Theo we trust!
Cathy said on November 19, 2008
Oh, I haven’t seen those reports that said that Crisp and Ellsbury have to go. Do you have a link? Sounds quite extreme to me and not like what Theo would do. By the way, Ellsbury can play all three OF positions extremely well.
PSF said on November 20, 2008
umm..Crisp is already gone, Cathy. Traded to the Royals yesterday.
ohio said on November 21, 2008
he has played all three fairly well, all while struggling through the sophomore jinx at the plate(if you consider the ALCS and WS his freshman year).
it came from some hot stove thing, and indicated that Youk could (emphasis on could) move to the outfield if they get tex, lowell at third, with bay, youk, and some other of.

LMFAO @ Cathys post bwaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahah
good job keeping up

I’d say the only thing that’s near probable at this point is that Tek is coming back. The Sox are all about the professionalism that Tek brings. The game is primarily pitching and you need him calling the game.
Sox will go hard after both Teix and Burnett. I think they’ll land Burnett. Imagine a team next year with Daisuke as the #4. Wow.

I knew that Crisp was traded but the above indicates that Ellsbury may be the next to be traded. I haven’t read that anywhere. Do you have a source? I’d don’t think that Ellsbury had a “middling” season, he scored 98 runs, hit .280, had 50 SBs, and played great defense. Crisp hit .283 ( middling also) but Ellsbury has so much more potential. There is no need to panic yet that Ellsbury hasn’t lived up to the media hype that he would be the next Fred Lynn.
“In Theo we trust” sounds a bit sarcastic to me, I think that Theo has done a tremendous job as GM. Time will tell how well the Ramon Ramirez does in middle relief. I hated to see CC go as I didn’t consider four good outfielders to be unnecessary baggage and it came in very handy during the 2008 season with all the injuries.

LMFAO on PSF saying jump and Bosoxfan saying “How high boss?” Did Bosoxfan carefully read the original post by Ohio and understand it? Did not Ohio say that Ellsbury may be the next one to go?

I did say it, given what I read “somewhere”…IIRC, it was some guy named Gammons, but I could be wrong. There was absolutely no sarcasm in “In Theo We Trust”. Potential is just that…I like Ellsbury but don’t really care if he is here or not, as long as they bring someone in that can do the job day in and day out.
I lack direction….I wish PSF would tell me how high should I jump.

(Cathy) “Oh, I haven’t seen those reports that said that Crisp and Ellsbury have to go. Do you have a link?” ….. No emphasis on the “AND” there sister, so it was easy to misinterpret . I stand corrected… a thousand pardons. carry on….
and for the record, PSF and I frequently disagree, except when it comes to you…
cheers

If Bo told me to jump, I guarantee I could get a good 4-1/2 inches off the ground, which is high for me. On a good day, I average maybe lifting my shoe just high enough to take another step. On a bad day, I drag my feet, clawing the pavement with the soles. Add me in on agreeing that Cathy is Nurse Cratchett.

Happy Thanksgiving one and all. Here’s to a great meal, getting triptafaned out, crawing into the recliner for a bit of football and a nap!
Me?……I’m having a 25lb bird that I smoked on the smoker….mmmmm.
16 people will partake, and the best part is, it is taking place at my son’s place!
Ha!….no clean up….at least for yours truly.
Starting to buy into the Tex rumors…..sure would be a sweet lineup with that bat right in the middle of it eh.
The hot stove league should start heating up soon.
Bon Appitite!

I’ve been on an Anthony Bourdaine kick, seen about a dozen of his travel channel shows in the past few days.

I’ve hibernated with several new novels this past month or so. I’d highly recommend Nelson DeMille’s newest…”The Gatehouse”, which is a sequel to his outstanding and iconic “The Gold Coast” which was written some 15 years ago.
Fantastic read!
I suggest that if you have not read the Gold Coast, to read that first.

Well Chuck’s when I grow up I want to be Anthony Bourdain so I can travel to Maine and Wally can show me all the fancy eateries and have some ex-figure skater wait on me. And hang out at the beaches with all those sexy thong clad beauties.
Bourdains show on Beirut was excellent…
