Portland Sox Fan

In a getaway game this afternoon vs. the Halos, Sox prospect Justin Masterson gets the start at Fenway after Beckett and Dice-K both got scratched in the past two days. Masterson has pitched well in AA this year; I happened to catch his start against the New Britian Rock Cats earlier this month.

I was at the game Tuesday; my first trip to Fenway for the year. We were somewhat dismayed to find out about 5:00 that Beckett wasn’t starting, but it turned out to be a good game. Me and 5 other guys did some damage at our favorite pregame watering hole (which may cease to be a favorite if they keep charging $8 for SIX chicken wings). This represents our final tally (and 2 of the 6 guys were only there for about an hour and a half):
